Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (pronounced /biːˈɑn.seɪ/, born September 4, 1981), commonly known as Beyoncé, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she enrolled in various performing arts schools, and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Knowles rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of girl group Destiny's Child and went on to sell over 50 million records worldwide with the group.





After a series of commercial successes with the group, Knowles released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in June 2003. The album became one of the most-successful albums of that year, spawning the number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". It earned Knowles five Grammy Awards in a single night in 2004, and its reception signaled her viability as a solo artist. The disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2005 facilitated her continued success; she released her second album, B'Day, in 2006, which contained the UK number-one singles "Déjà Vu" and "Beautiful Liar", and the worldwide hit "Irreplaceable". Her third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, was released in November 2008, and spawned the worldwide hit, "If I Were a Boy", and the US number-one hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)".

The success of her solo albums has established Knowles as one of the most marketable artists in the music industry, and she has expanded her career to acting and product endorsement. In 2006, she starred in the comedy film The Pink Panther, and, in the same year, played the lead role in the film adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls, for which she received two Golden Globe nominations. Knowles earned her third Golden Globe nomination of "Best Original Song" for her latest film Cadillac Records. Knowles launched her family's fashion line, House of Deréon, in 2004, and has been engaged to endorse such brands as Pepsi, Tommy Hilfiger, and L'Oréal. Knowles has been with husband Jay-Z since 2002, though they have been discreet about their relationship. After much speculation, they married on April 4, 2008. Knowles has sold more than 75 million albums throughout her career, counting her album sales with Destiny's Child.[5] She was the second highest paid musician between June 2007 and June 2008, with earnings of US$80 million.

Pussycat Dolls

The Pussycat Dolls is an American pop girl group, and dance ensemble founded by choreographer Robin Antin. The group originated in 1995 as a burlesque troupe based in Los Angeles. After attracting the attention of many high profile celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Johnny Depp, the group eventually negotiated a record deal with Interscope Records in 2003, and was re-cast as a music group, comprising lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, and Carmit Bachar. The group also diversified into Reality TV programs, a Las Vegas act and venue, and other ventures overseen by Antin and her partners.





The Pussycat Dolls achieved worldwide success in 2005 with their album PCD, which debuted at number five on the U.S Billboard 200 Chart, and produced the hits "Don't Cha", "Buttons", and "Stickwitu", the latter of which earned the group a Grammy Award nomination. Following the departure of Bachar in March 2008, the group continued as a quintet, and in 2008, released their second studio album Doll Domination, which included the hits "When I Grow Up" and "I Hate This Part". Throughout their rise to fame, the group has been criticized for its overtly sexual image and explicit dance routines, and for the over-emphasis on Nicole Scherzinger, who sings nearly all of the group's lead and background vocals.

Toni Braxton

Toni Michelle Braxton (born October 7, 1967) is an American R&B singer-songwriter and actress. Braxton has won six Grammy Awards and has sold over forty million records worldwide. Her number-one single, "Un-break My Heart", is the second biggest selling single by a female artist in Billboard history. Braxton has a contralto vocal range. [2]

Braxton topped the Billboard 200 with her 1993 self-titled debut album and continued that streak with her second studio album Secrets, which spawned the number-one smash hit "Un-Break My Heart". After filing for bankruptcy, Braxton returned with her chart-topping third album, The Heat. Her most recent albums were More Than a Woman, her last release under the Arista label, and Libra, her first and only release on Blackground.

Braxton was involved in the 7th season of the reality show Dancing with the Stars. Her professional partner was Alec Mazo. She was eliminated from the show on October 21, 2008 on Week 5 of the competition. She was confirmed to be one of the headliners for the Dancing With The Star Winter Tour.





Personal life

Braxton dated football player Curtis Martin from 1997 to 1998. She then met musician Keri Lewis when his group, Mint Condition, opened for her on tour.[31] On April 21, 2001, they married.[31] On December 2, 2001, she gave birth to their first child,[32] a son named Denim Cole Braxton-Lewis. The couple's second son, Diezel Ky Braxton-Lewis, was born on March 31, 2003.[32]

In an October 2006 concert at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, it was reported that Braxton broke down in tears discussing her son, Diezel, who was recently diagnosed with autism.[33] Braxton has been outspoken regarding her doctor's failure to diagnose Diezel's condition earlier, contending that if he had been diagnosed earlier, he could have been helped.[34]

As well as becoming a spokeswoman for Autism Speaks, she is also a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association.

Health Problems

As of August 2007, rumors surfaced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Toni stated to Access Hollywood that the breast cancer rumors were false and that her health is in great condition. However, in 2008, she had a benign lump removed from her breast. [35]

On April 8, 2008, near the end of her two-year run at the Flamingo Hotel, Braxton was briefly hospitalized and the remaining dates on the show, which was scheduled to end on August 23, 2008, were canceled. Later, while appearing on Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars, she stated that she has been diagnosed with microvascular angina (small vessel disease).

IL DIVO

Il Divo, Italian for "divine male (performer)", is a multinational operatic pop vocal group created by music manager, executive and reality TV star, Simon Cowell. They are also signed to Cowell's Record label, 'Syco music'. Il Divo is formed of singers Carlos Marín, Urs Bühler, David Miller, and Sébastien Izambard.





The idea behind Il Divo's creation came to Cowell after listening to Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman's rendition of Con te partirò. Aware of this new appreciation for lyrical voices and classical music, he decided to form a multinational quartet (the members hail from Spain, Switzerland, France and the United States) that tried to sound like The Three Tenors.

Simon Cowell conducted a worldwide search for young singers who were willing to embark on the Il Divo project which lasted two years, from 2001 until December 2003, when the fourth member of Il Divo, American tenor David Miller, was signed. The well-established formation of Il Divo comprises a renowned Spanish opera and Spanish baritone, Carlos Marín; two classically trained tenors, Swiss Urs Bühler and American David Miller; and a French pop singer, Sébastien Izambard.

Il Divo sings in English, Italian, Spanish, French, and Latin. Il Divo was named the Most Multinational UK No.1 Album Group in the 2006 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. A star located in the Ursa Major constellation located at RA11h39m35.62s DEC+37.27479 MAG11.02. has been named "Il Divo" after this musical quartet.[citation needed]

On 25 April 2007 Il Divo performed on American Idol in one of the "Idol Gives Back" episodes which raised money for children in the U.S. and Africa. For every vote cast during that show, Idol sponsors Coca-Cola, AT&T and others donated money to Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF) and other groups such as Save the Children and America's Second Harvest.

On December 12, 2008 Il Divo will perform their new song at the Swedish Idol 2008 finale in the Globen Arena in Stockholm.
